By installing or using MetaGenius AI, you ("you", "the merchant") agree to these terms. They're written to be readable. If anything is unclear, email support@metagenius-ai-seo.com.
1. The service
MetaGenius AI is a Shopify SEO app that uses AI to generate SEO meta titles, meta descriptions, and image alt text for your Shopify store's products, collections, blog posts, and pages. The service is delivered as a Shopify-embedded app and is operated by Gautam Rudani, an indie software developer based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India ("we", "us").
2. Eligibility & Shopify account
You need an active Shopify store to use MetaGenius AI. By installing the app you confirm you are authorized to act for the store and to accept these terms on its behalf.
3. Sets & billing
The service operates on a "set" model. One set = one AI-generated SEO meta title plus its matching meta description for one resource (product, collection, blog post, or page). Plan limits:
- Free — $0/month, 25 sets/month.
- Starter — $4.99/month or $50.99/year, 100 sets/month, 7-day free trial.
- Pro — $14.99/month or $150.99/year, 500 sets/month, 7-day free trial.
Monthly plan sets reset at each Shopify billing cycle and do not roll over. Top-up sets, when purchased separately, never expire. All billing is processed by Shopify under Shopify's billing terms — by subscribing you authorize charges through your Shopify account.
4. Free trials
Starter and Pro plans include a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, Shopify will begin charging the selected plan automatically. You can cancel at any time during the trial from your Shopify admin.
5. AI-generated content disclaimer
Meta tags are produced by an AI model (OpenAI's GPT family) using your existing product content as the source. AI output may occasionally contain inaccuracies, awkward phrasing, or unintended creative liberties. You remain responsible for reviewing and approving all AI-generated content before publishing it to your storefront; that's why every generation goes through an edit-before-save preview. We make no guarantee of specific search rankings, traffic, conversion rates, or any other SEO outcome — anyone who does is misleading you.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to generate misleading, deceptive, illegal, or harmful content;
- Use the service to produce content that infringes third-party intellectual property;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the service, abuse the API, or circumvent plan limits;
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the service without our written permission.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules.
7. Refunds
Subscription billing for MetaGenius AI is processed by Shopify and follows Shopify's standard merchant billing rules. The 7-day free trial exists specifically so you can test the app risk-free before paying. For exceptional cases (extended outage, billing error), email us — we'll work with you in good faith.
8. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but make no formal SLA guarantee. The service depends on third parties (Shopify, OpenAI, cloud hosting) whose outages can cascade. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where feasible.
9. Intellectual property
You own the meta tags MetaGenius generates for your store, including the right to edit, publish, and use them however you wish. We retain ownership of the app, its code, brand, and underlying systems.
10. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or revenues, arising from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability in any 12-month period is capped at the amount you paid us in that period (which for Free-plan users is $0).
11. Termination
You may cancel anytime by uninstalling MetaGenius AI from your Shopify admin or canceling the subscription on the plan page. Shopify stops billing immediately. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, liability, governing law) survive.
12. Changes to these terms
If we materially change these terms we'll update the effective date and notify paid-plan merchants by email. Continued use after changes go live constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from or related to these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Where local consumer protection law gives you stronger rights (e.g., EU consumer law for EU residents), those stronger rights apply.
